Changing Email Address

I find it entertaining every time someone sends me a new email address that ends in comcast.net or verizon.net. Why do people use their service provider's email address? You're just going to change it again when you switch providers. There are so many free web email providers out there. Why use your ISPs?

Personally, I've been using my yahoo email account for 10 years now but I'm going to change it to my aim.com account. Now I have changed jobs and ISPs several times in 10 years but my address has remained the same.

So why change now?

AOL/AIM lets you access email via IMAP and that is much nicer than going through web UIs. I also wanted to experience the pain that those silly people experience when they change their email address each time they change ISPs. Anyone leaving AOL today would be CRAZY not to keep their aol.com email address. Its free and you don't have to send out silly change of email address notes. :-)

I've been changing my email address on accounts and email lists for over a week now and I still get a bunch of email. I suspect it will be 6 months before I catch everything.

- classmates.com -- I hate this site, they are very deceptive and I can't seem to log in anymore.

- sonyrewards.com.. what a waste. clicked unsubscribe but it told me to call customer service. now I know why sony charges so much for their products. I'll try again next week
